A Nanyang Tale:The Descendants of The Dragon 龙的传人

Legends has it that Chinese are the Descendants of the Dragon.

“追远” which means Honour Thy Heritage is often found in Peranakan households and is an endearing reminder not to forget our humble origins. Join the label as Fuchsia Lane travels to the Forbidden Palace in Beijing, the pinnacle of Imperial Artistry and Opulence, to uncover the gems of inspiration for our new collection.

The Descendants of Dragon embarked on an arduous sea journey to Nanyang.
With resilience and grit,
endearing legacies were built when they were young.
We must not forget our forefathers’ struggles and respect what they teach
Trees weather storms because they stay deeply rooted the higher they reach
A stroke of divine fate, the search for fortune and a better life
They married little Nonyas and forge a homeland with passion and drive
An epic romance with colonial influences gave birth to new Nanyang culture
The Dragon and Phoenix are auspicious emblems bestowing power in every ritual
Centuries passed, the sleepy tropical sea village blossomed into a garden city
As we meet future challenges, we must not forget
The Pioneering Spirit and valor in our blood as Descendants of Dragon.
